Project: Black Hole!
Operation: February 4- March 3rd., 2010
The Murrow project asks you selectively boycott ALL News programming from all three network news stations, ABC, CBS and NBC for the entire Sweeps period of February 4 – March 3, 2010. Please, do not watch Main Stream Broadcast news at any hour of the day. Please plan to totally boycott any broadcast news programming at any time during the above Sweeps period. Cable viewers are asked to NOT ”surf” through a broadcast channel as that will “click” the cable company meter and add to the over night viewer statistics. Cable viewers are asked to put a “child channel block” on each local affiliate station(s) so you can not even skim over it. The Project want your help to create a “Block Hole” of Viewers on broadcast news for this period. Seriously, no news ever from these outlets at any time for any reason during Sweeps. Please default to Fox or CNN headline news or news radio for this period. Make all family members aware that this is a family project.
While boycotting these broadcast news networks we ask that you watch ABC as much as possible for entertainment during this period. ABC has the lowest ratings, is publicly owned by Disney who is the most influenced by consumer pressure of the Big Three. If we can apply enough pressure on the others, Disney will pressure downstream management for a more fair and balanced news approach as result of this effort. By shifting viewership to a competitive channel we give that channel improved revenues for 6-8 weeks during the Sweeps period. This makes them stronger against CBS and NBC. But even more, we will tell ABC what we give we can take away and that will be a power message to shareholders. If you are a Fox News Station follower, please see our next project marked URGENT!
What is Sweeps? Sweeps is a viewer measurement system based on viewer monitoring to develop the “Ratings Points & Share” every program on Mainstream Broadcast television shows and news.
The most commonly cited Nielsen results are reported in two measurements: ratings points and share, usually reported as: “ratings points/share”. As of September 1, 2009, there are an estimated 114.9 million television households in the United States. A single national rating point represents one percent of the total number, or 1,149,000 households for the 2010 season.
Share is the percentage of television sets in use tuned to the program. For example, Nielsen may report a show as receiving a 9.2/15 during its broadcast, meaning that on average 9.2 percent of all television-equipped households were tuned in to that program at any given moment, while 15 percent of households watching TV were tuned into the program during this time slot. (Nielsen re-estimates the number of TV-equipped households each August for the upcoming television season.) The difference between rating and share is that a rating reflects the percentage of the total population of televisions tuned to a particular program while share reflects the percentage of televisions actually in use.
The Next significant viewer measurement is from the cable Networks such as Comcast. Most cable networks today are interactive, meaning the set top box talks with the network to request programming and yes to tell the network what you are watching and for how long. This information is compiled in anomyous format (at least for now) and data is sold to channel operators or to specific shows on a subscription basis. This is often referred to as “Over Night Rating” and is very accurate and not an imputed statistic. Why are rating important? It determines the most important aspect tot television programming, and that is the value of an advertising minute. yes ratings equate in to money, the money advertisers are asked to spend to run commercials during that time slot.
Viewer power can control the financial success of a television show and YES< the financial success of a news or opinion show as well. We the viewers have POWER to make or break a television show and that is way our Project Black Hole is so critical to our overall mission. Please participate and ask everyone you know to join in to help save American from the forces of socialism.

COMPLETED! Operation Can You hear US Now?
In the coming week, on October 17th. there will be country wide citizen protests against the Big three Broadcast Network’s local media out lets around America. The actual site remain a secret, but the total location will exceed 125 for the first effort and it is estimated that 125,000 citizens will participate in this effort. These protests are emphasizing the “Can You Hear Us Now” as their mantra. The purpose is to get the networks to acknowledge the existence of a large and growing portion of the US population that has been disgusted with the lack of independence and their journalistic slanted news from these servants of the public! The network affiliates will have an opportunity to hear from the citizens first hand, up close and personal! They will understand more clearly the People will not be stifled by a corrupted or politically blinded media or press.

Project: Change You’d Better Believe In!
A Murrow Project : Our goal is to contact bomb the executives of the Big Three asking them to acknowledge that their news policies require change we can believe in and to return to fair, balanced and truthful coverage of local, state, national, and international news. Urge these executives to affirm that they will only practice Journalistic Opinion Editorialization of news as propaganda when clearly identified as propaganda and not news. Further, you would want to consider asking them guarantee to the citizens of America that irrespective of their past practices that they will refrain for any such practices in the future.
In your letter, email or fax make clear that the public expects their affirmation of policy in their evening news airing on October 22 through Niovembner 3rd. and let them know you’ll be watching.
